Counterintelligence – Open Source Firebrand Radio Ep. 9

Counterintelligence is defined as the – organized activity of an intelligence service designed to block an enemy’s sources of information, to deceive the enemy, to prevent sabotage, and to gather political and military information. For our purposes we’re applying this concept to ourselves as individuals, although one day our movement may develop it’s own organized group and some of you may be involved in such a network. For now though our main concern is increasing our safety from petty crimes, as well as reduce harm from the dragnet style information gathering that corporations and government perform.

The second segment of this episode deals with this in depth. I give a long list of different easy to apply habits you can work into your day to day life that increase your personal security to prevent muggings, burglaries, identity fraud, reduce how many “flags” you accumulate in the government’s eyes, and more. None of these things are difficult to do and they don’t require regular training, just a bit of agency and habit formation. A few of them require a purchase of an item, but this is always very affordable. With increased security comes increased inconvenience, but once a habit is formed, it’s just second nature and you won’t even think about it. Is putting your seat belt on when stepping into a vehicle really that inconvenient?
